What we do

The three-stage programme offers a structured approach to problem-solving and solution implementation.

Stage 1: Is all about active listening.

Stage 2: Takes us outdoors.

Stage 3: Focuses on turning ideas into action.

What are you stuck on?

Stage One is the foundation of the structured problem-solving approach.

This is the foundation of our structured problem-solving approach. It is focused on defining the issues, reviewing your current situation, identifying your desired outcome and setting the agenda for Stage 2.

By the end of the discussion, we will have a shared, clear understanding of the problem you want to solve, your current condition, and the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

We can run this session remotely or on site.

The Heart of the Matter

Stage Two is the core of the programme. It uses an outdoor setting to encourage clearer thinking, focused problem-solving, and productive discussion.

Guided by David and Mike from Wood For The Trees, you and your team will explore the issues in depth and develop practical solution options. Where stage 1 frames the problem, stage 2 digs into its causes and shapes realistic ways forward.

By the end of stage 2, we will have a shared view of priority areas for change and initial solution ideas.

Making Changes

Stage Three: Making Changes focuses on turning ideas into action. It focuses on reviewing solution options, creating a high level programme plan, reflecting on the insights from earlier stages, and agreeing the standards, actions and responsibilities, and timescales required for change. From decades of experience, we know that simplicity drives effective implementation.

Together, we will complete three concise documents: a structured problem-solving template, a scorecard showing the current and desired states, and a programme plan.

By the end of stage three, we will have a clear, jointly developed plan for implementation.

We can run this session remotely or on site.
